Merry Christmas

Christmas is coming!

"May the Joy of the Season Surround you, Merry Christmas, with luv..."

Had a division lunch just now and played bowling. There's tonnes of people out there in town, the stores are raided. Stepped into Watsons to get water, and it's actually sold out! Same for body-shop, all the 10+ gifts are ALL gone! Like a hurriance has just swept across the stores. There's this thing that I hope will happen, but looks like my stars are not aligned yet. Oh well, we'd see.

On a separate note, Looks like I'm watching one French movie ever year, thanks to my friend who always drag me to accompany her. But this is a nice movie, worth our effort to wad thru' the puddle of water along the way to the theatre, on the day when Sg poured heavily.

The Choir

Synopsis: 15 January 1949, former music teacher Clément Mathieu (Gérard Jugnot) arrives in "Fond de l' Etang" ("Bottom of the Well"), a boarding school for orphans and problematic boys, as an inspector. The place is administrated with iron fist by the cruel director Rachin (François Berléand), and the boys have severe punishments for their faults. Clément decides to teach the boys to sing in a choir in their spare time, and identify the musical potential of the rebel Pierre Morhange (Jean-Baptiste Maunier), the son of a beautiful single mother for whom he feels a crush. He also has a special feeling for the young Pépinot (Maxence Perrin), a boy that expects the visit of his father every Saturday near the gate, but lost his parents in the war. With his methods, Clément tries to reach and changes the lives of the boys, the other employees and his own through music.
