Hawker Food
This post is dedicated to Singapore Hawker Food.
Went to Seah Im Food Centre near my work place, and decided to buy Hor Fun from a store. As it's self-service, I stood there and waited for my food. Then I saw how the Auntie make the Hor Fun. She just took out Hor Fun from a huge plate, scoop some onto a smaller plate, then prepare the sauce, which is hot and pour over the Hor Fun. Wah...made me lose my appetite instantly! Later I found out from my mum that's how they make Hor Fun now, I always tot they would cook in a wok, like any normal dish. Not gonna eat Hor Fun for a long time.
Then at nite, at this Food Centre at Chinatown, after finishing my century egg porriage using a plastic spoon in a plastic bowl ( I'm against that - the plastic will MELT! ) I saw a dessert store selling sesame paste, almond paste, peanut paste...u get the idea. And I asked if she still has sesame paste as her store looks suspiciously clean and empty. She said yes- anything u want she also got. Then I asked for 2 bowls. She took out a huge tub from the fridge, scoop out some into 2 plastic bowls and put them in the MICROWAVE!!! Wah..so dishonest these hawkers out there now..she's theoretically correct that she still has them, but had i know it's gonna be microwaved - i wont want it.
More n more hawkers are taking the short cut to serve their food - better to be more careful next time b4 you order!
And we went karaoke at Boat Quay Partyworld yest, that place was crappy- crappy room and even crappy toilet! Dont visit that branch ok!
But the crowd is good, and that saved the day..=)
